Bruninho has secured a permanent transfer to "Karpaty" Lviv after the Ukrainian club exercised their option to buy the 25-year-old attacking midfielder. The Brazilian playmaker, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan with the green-whites, impressed enough to convince the club's management to invest in his services.
According to journalist Fred Augusto, "Karpaty" has completed the deal with "Atletico Mineiro" for approximately €800,000.
"Bruninho performed well in the weak Ukrainian league," Augusto noted, adding that the player "wasn't in the future plans of Atletico Mineiro's management."
The investment seems justified based on the midfielder's production last season. Bruninho established himself as one of the standout performers not just for "Karpaty" but in the entire Ukrainian Premier League, tallying 8 goals and 3 assists across 24 championship appearances.
His total of 11 goal contributions made him one of the most productive attacking midfielders in the league. Not bad for a player who wasn't wanted by his parent club.
Interestingly, this move represents a significant financial commitment for the Lviv club, which has been working to strengthen its squad after recent seasons of rebuilding.
Will Bruninho continue his impressive form now that he's a permanent fixture at the club? "Karpaty" supporters certainly hope so as they look forward to the 2025/26 campaign.
