Ruslan Rotan, the head coach of Zhytomyr's "Polissya", has set his sights on strengthening the midfield with two Ukrainian players. The experienced tactician is looking to bring in Yegor Nazarina from "Shakhtar" and Volodymyr Shepelev from "Oleksandria", according to reports from "Kamon, play".
"We're always looking for quality players who can add value to our squad," Rotan might be thinking as he evaluates his options for the upcoming season.
Shepelev would bring considerable experience to "Polissya" if the move materializes. The midfielder spent eight years with Kyiv's "Dynamo" before making the switch to "Oleksandria" in winter 2025. His stats from last season include 12 appearances in the Ukrainian Premier League, with one goal and one assist to his name.
Meanwhile, Nazarina's potential addition could provide another dimension to Rotan's team. The "Shakhtar" midfielder featured in 18 matches across all competitions last season, contributing one assist. Not the most impressive numbers, but Rotan clearly sees something in the player's skill set.
Interestingly, this news comes amid reports that three prominent clubs have shown interest in a current "Dynamo" Kyiv player. The transfer market is heating up in Ukrainian football!
Will Rotan succeed in bringing these two midfielders to Zhytomyr? And more importantly, could they make the difference for "Polissya" next season?
