John Eustace is looking to bring defender Dion Sanderson to "Derby County" this summer following the player's expected departure from "Birmingham City". The 25-year-old center-back has fallen out of favor at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park under manager Chris Davies.

"We're always looking to strengthen our defensive options with players I know can perform at this level," Eustace might say about his interest in the defender.

Sanderson's time at "Birmingham" appears to be coming to an end just two years after his £2 million transfer from "Wolverhampton Wanderers". After starting last season in the Blues' lineup, he quickly lost his place to Christoph Klarer, who went on to win Player of the Year honors.

In January, Sanderson was shipped out on loan to "Blackburn Rovers" - where, interestingly, Eustace was in charge at the time. The defender made 12 appearances in the Championship for Blackburn, compared to just two League One outings for Birmingham before Christmas.

This potential move makes perfect sense given Eustace's history with the player. The Derby boss has previously worked with Sanderson at "Queens Park Rangers" and "Birmingham City" before their paths crossed again at Blackburn.

"Birmingham" have already moved to strengthen their defensive options, bringing in Phil Neumann during the close season. Reports suggest they're also interested in re-signing Ben Davies from "Rangers" following his successful loan spell.

For Sanderson, this could represent a fresh start under a manager who clearly rates him. Can he revive his career at Pride Park? The coming weeks will tell if Eustace gets his man.
