Ime Okon has decided to leave "Superport United" when his contract expires next summer, setting his sights on a European move. The 21-year-old South African central defender will become a free agent on June 30, 2025, after negotiations for a contract extension fell through despite months of talks.

"I've given everything for this club, but now I feel it's time to challenge myself at a higher level in Europe," Okon might say about his decision to move on.

According to reliable information, two clubs have emerged as frontrunners for his signature – "Dynamo Kyiv" from Ukraine and Danish side "Midtjylland". The young defender is expected to announce his final choice in the coming days.

Interestingly, Okon has maintained solid form this season, appearing in 24 matches across all competitions while adding one goal to his defensive duties. Not bad for a player whose market value sits at approximately 850,000 euros.

The defender's decision comes after several months of unsuccessful contract renewal discussions with the South African club. By the way, his planned departure marks another talent leaving the South African Premier Division for European opportunities.

Which club will ultimately secure Okon's services? Both "Dynamo Kyiv" and "Midtjylland" offer distinct paths for the defender's development, with the former providing a platform in Eastern European football and the latter known for developing talent in Scandinavia.
