Ruslan Rotan, the head coach of Zhytomyr's "Polissya", has set his sights on strengthening the squad with two Ukrainian midfielders, according to recent reports.

The former Ukrainian international is looking to bring in Volodymyr Shepelyev from "Oleksandriya" and Yegor Nazarina from "Shakhtar" to bolster his team's midfield options for the upcoming campaign.

Shepelyev, who spent eight years at "Dynamo" Kyiv before making the switch to "Oleksandriya" in winter 2025, could be a solid addition to Rotan's side. Last season, the midfielder featured in 12 Ukrainian Premier League matches, contributing one goal and one assist. Not bad for a player adjusting to a new club environment.

Meanwhile, Nazarina's experience at "Shakhtar" might prove valuable for "Polissya". The midfielder made 18 appearances across all competitions last season, providing one assist. His versatility in the middle of the park could give Rotan more tactical options.

By the way, the transfer market seems quite active for Ukrainian clubs right now. It's worth mentioning that three prominent clubs have reportedly shown interest in an unnamed "Dynamo" Kyiv player.

Will Rotan manage to secure his preferred targets? The coming weeks should provide answers as "Polissya" looks to strengthen ahead of the new season.
