Bruninho has completed a permanent transfer to "Karpaty" Lviv after the Ukrainian club paid approximately €800,000 to secure his services from Brazilian side "Atletico Mineiro". The 25-year-old attacking midfielder spent the 2024/25 season on loan with the Lviv club before this permanent deal.
"The deal is already closed," – reported journalist Fred Augusto, who also noted that Bruninho "performed well in the weak Ukrainian league" and wasn't part of "Atletico Mineiro's" future plans.
The Brazilian proved to be quite the find for the green and whites. During his loan spell, Bruninho established himself as one of the standout performers not just for "Karpaty" but in the entire Ukrainian Premier League.
By the numbers, his contribution speaks for itself – 8 goals and 3 assists across 24 championship matches for a total of 11 goal involvements. Not bad for a midfielder in his first season in Ukrainian football.
Interestingly, despite the journalist's somewhat dismissive comment about the quality of the UPL, Bruninho's performances were impressive enough to convince "Karpaty" to spend a significant sum on making his move permanent.
With the transfer now complete, "Karpaty" fans will be eager to see if their Brazilian playmaker can build on his strong debut season. Will he become the creative focal point of the team's attack for years to come?
