Aleix Garcia has cast doubt on Angelo Stiller being the right midfield reinforcement for "Real Madrid". The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder didn't hold back when discussing the Stuttgart player's potential move to the Spanish capital.
"I know they're talking about him at Madrid, but honestly I think there are better options than him for this position," – Garcia told 'As' in a recent interview.
The 24-year-old Stiller, who currently plays for Stuttgart, has been linked with "Real Madrid" for several weeks as a potential solution to their midfield concerns. The German international has caught attention, but Garcia isn't entirely convinced.
The Catalan midfielder did offer some measured praise for Stiller's abilities. "He's good. I haven't analyzed him in detail, but with Stuttgart's style of play, midfielders touch the ball a lot and he's quite precise with his passes, especially the short ones," noted the former Girona player.
Interestingly, Garcia believes "Real Madrid" should be looking for a specific profile rather than just any midfielder.
"They definitely need someone like Kroos. He's been absent this season and his absence has been very noticeable," – added the 27-year-old Leverkusen player.
With the transfer window approaching, will "Real Madrid" heed Garcia's assessment or pursue Stiller anyway? The search for midfield reinforcement continues.
