Ruslan Rotan, the head coach of Zhytomyr's "Polissia", has set his sights on two Ukrainian midfielders to strengthen his squad. The experienced tactician wants to bring Yegor Nazarina from "Shakhtar" and Volodymyr Shepelev from "Oleksandria" to his team.

"Both players have qualities that would fit perfectly into our system. We need experience and technical ability in midfield," – Rotan reportedly told his staff during transfer discussions.

Shepelev comes with a solid background, having spent eight years at "Dynamo" Kyiv before making the switch to "Oleksandria" in winter 2025. His stats from last season include 12 appearances in the Ukrainian Premier League, where he managed to score once and provide one assist.

Nazarina's record last season shows 18 matches played for "Shakhtar" with one assist to his name. Not exactly eye-catching numbers, but Rotan clearly sees potential that statistics don't reveal.

Interestingly, this news comes shortly after reports that three prominent clubs have shown interest in one of the current "Dynamo" Kyiv players. The transfer market is heating up. Will Rotan get his men? That remains the big question as "Polissia" looks to climb higher in the league table.
