Ime Okon has decided to leave "Supersport United" when his contract expires next summer, ending months of unsuccessful extension negotiations. The 21-year-old South African central defender will become a free agent on June 30, 2025, and appears headed for European football.

"Supersport" officials attempted to secure the young defender's future for several months, but discussions reached a dead end. No agreement could be found between the parties.

Interestingly, two European clubs have emerged as frontrunners for Okon's signature. Dynamo Kyiv from Ukraine and Danish side Midtjylland are currently leading the race to land the defender valued at approximately 850,000 euros.

Okon has been a steady presence for his South African club this season, making 24 appearances across all competitions and even chipping in with one goal. Not bad for a central defender looking to make his mark in Europe.

The player is expected to announce his final decision in the coming days. Will he choose the Ukrainian giants or test himself in Denmark? This summer move could represent a significant step up in competition for the promising South African defender.
