Ruslan Rotan wants to bring two Ukrainian midfielders to "Polissya" Zhytomyr, according to recent reports. The head coach has set his sights on "Shakhtar's" Yehor Nazaryna and "Oleksandriya's" Volodymyr Shepelyev to strengthen his squad.

"We need experienced players who can elevate our game immediately," Rotan reportedly told his coaching staff when discussing potential additions.

Volodymyr Shepelyev spent eight years at "Dynamo" Kyiv before moving to "Oleksandriya" in winter 2025. His stats from last season show decent contribution – 12 appearances in the Ukrainian Premier League with one goal and one assist. Not bad for a player adjusting to a new team.

Yehor Nazaryna, currently with "Shakhtar", made 18 appearances at club level last season and provided one assist. The midfielder could bring additional creativity to Rotan's side.

Interestingly, this news comes amid reports that three prominent clubs are showing interest in a current "Dynamo" Kyiv player, though that's a different transfer story altogether.

Will Rotan succeed in bringing these two targets to Zhytomyr? The coming weeks should reveal whether "Polissya" can seal these deals and how they might reshape the team's midfield options for the season.
